I designed a weeklong art camp called “Inflatable Paintings” that I teach at Oklahoma Contemporary for kids ages 10-12. In this camp, the students learn about inflatable art, contemporary artists who make them, and how to make their own inflatable art. I guide the students through a brainstorming session where they create sketches for the inflatables they would like to make during the week. The students learned how to make mini inflatables, the basics of how to sew with a sewing machine, how to hand sew, and how to create a larger than life inflated painting.
